Here at Bedard Bros. Chrysler Jeep Dodge, we have seen some high-mileage Jeep vehicles roll through our Cheshire, MA dealership. Jeep brand recently sat down with one man, Jerry Burton, to talk about his 2000 Jeep Cherokee, discussing his journey and experience with the automaker to find out how well his Jeep SUV has held up over the years.
Jerry was employed with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service after college. In 1995, he retired and begun working as a fly-fishing guide two years later, where his Cherokee became a huge asset to his business. It wasn't until 414,289 miles that his check engine light came on for the first time.
When asked how long he had been a fan of Jeep brand, Jerry mentions, "I first became interested in the Jeep brand in June of 2000 when the SUV I had at the time was once again having transmission problems. I was able to borrow a 2000 Cherokee from a fly-fishing store that I was guiding for. The Jeep Cherokee impressed me in the way it handled the rough washboard roads, the stream crossings and the back country roads, including the two trackers."1
Jerry's story is like many other faithful Jeep advocates in the Cheshire area. All it takes is that first ride in a new Jeep to become a believer. In addition to his Cherokee, Jerry also owns a 2010 Jeep Commander.
The Jeep Cherokee is a very capable vehicle offering plenty of cargo room with tremendous off-road handling. We are sure Jerry and many others in the Cheshire area are excited to see the model make a comeback for the 2014 model year. Stay tuned to our blog for more details on the Cherokee's arrival and other great stories regarding Jeep brand SUV's.
