As we all bid adieu to the year that was here at Bedard Bros. Chrysler Jeep Dodge it is time to see just how exactly we fared in 2013. With exciting new models and a slew of awards to add to the trophy case, the last 365 days have been full of excitement and success.
Turning to just the Jeep brand in particular, 2013 was yet another one for the books, as for the second year in a row the brand set a global record for sales. With 731,565 vehicles sold, the previous record was eclipsed by about 30,000 units, a 4 percent increase year-to-year.
With the global record once again being set it was exciting to see how different regions fared. The Asia-Pacific territory saw a rise of 26 percent, while the largest automotive market in the world, China, saw the Jeep brand boost sales 29 percent.
Here in the United States sales saw their fourth consecutive increase, with 490,454 units hitting the streets in 2013. Every model in the Jeep brand lineup saw a double digit surge in terms of sales percentage over the previous year, a trend we definitely saw here in our Cheshire, Massachusetts showroom.
As for individual models, the unique new 2014 Jeep Cherokee saw 31,330 units sold in its brief time available on the market. The always popular Grand Cherokee blazed the trail for the brand, leading the sales train with 255,005 units moved across the globe. This model was followed up by the rugged Wrangler, which also bested 200,000 for a final number of 210,715 rides vended.
