Are you on the hunt for your next great pickup truck? Car and Driver has named the Ram 1500 one of its 10Best vehicles for six years in a row. The vehicle authority didn’t just name the Ram 1500 one of the best pickup trucks; it snagged a spot among the 10 best vehicles, competing with other body styles for the prestigious accolade. Maybe the Ram 1500 has your attention now. But before you go looking at 2024 models, know that the 2025 Ram 1500 is soon to be available at Bedard Brothers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, your local Ram dealership, and has a solid combination of attention-grabbing new features and popular holdovers from previous models. Here are five reasons the 2025 Ram 1500 should have your attention.

#1 - You’ll Have Performance That’s Precise and Powerful

The Ram 1500 has always been known for its strong engine options. However, Ram surprised everyone by upping the ante again this year with two new beastly powertrains: the 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6 and the High-Output 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6. Once you get to know these new engines, you’ll see that their stormy name is more than appropriate.

The 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6 is going to get you 420 hp, 469 lb-ft of torque, a maximum towing ability of 11,560 lbs, and a maximum payload of 1,910 lbs. If you work in construction or agriculture and need to tow massive equipment across job sites or haul hefty boxes of tools and materials, the 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6 is more than up to the challenge.

The High-Output engine takes its capabilities up a notch, with an incredible 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque. It also has a payload capacity of 1,370 lbs, and the towing capacity sits at 10,740 lbs. Drivers with serious towing and hauling needs around a work site should be able to tackle large jobs with ease with either engine.

Carrying over from the 2024 engine lineup is the base 3.6L Pentastar V6. Figures are slightly different for the 2025 model year compared to the 2024 option, but you won’t notice the difference. The Pentastar gets you 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque with a mild-hybrid electric boost when starting out.

Does your work take you to a variety of environments and over many terrains? You’ll appreciate the five available driving modes. Choose between Normal, Tow, Snow, Sport, and Off-Road. The vehicle will instantly make system adjustments to maximize the characteristics that matter most to you in each environment, whether that’s comfort, power, traction, fuel economy, or performance dynamics.

#2 - You Can Spoil Yourself With the All-New Tungsten Trim

Luxury lovers will be pleased with the new top-end trim for the 2025 Ram 1500, the Tungsten. From striking design elements to awesome comfort and convenience features, the Tungsten is a pleasure to drive or simply ride in as a passenger.

The Tungsten trim has premium leather seating, complemented by real wood and carbon fiber accents. The resulting aesthetic is warm yet modern. There’s a focus on curating what you hear and what you don’t in this trim, too. It has an available 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere Audio System for crisp, immersive listening of your music, podcasts, audiobooks, and other media. Then, to ensure no unwanted noises ruin your in-cabin concert, there is a noise-canceling system in this trim to minimize road and engine sounds.

#3 - You Can Be Your Own Power Source

Are you not sure if outlets will be available at your work sites? No problem. The 2025 Ram 1500 has onboard outlets that work when the vehicle is on or off. Enjoy two available 110-volt outlets, great for powering tools, lights, and other appliances. There’s an available 2 kW inverter to supply all the electricity you need. This feature doesn’t only come in handy on job sites. If there’s a power outage at your office or home, you can still plug in essential appliances so long as you have your Ram nearby.

#4 - You’ll Get Trailering Assistance (for Times You Need an Extra Spotter)

If you plan on utilizing the towing powers of the 2025 Ram 1500, an extra set of eyes can never hurt when it comes to towing, hitching, and generally operating with something behind your truck. The 2025 Ram 1500 has an available Trailer Auto Hitch Assist feature. It’s a smart, automated system that allows the truck to steer itself into alignment with your trailer, lining up perfectly with the trailer tongue every time. All you have to do is control the brakes and throttle.

Thanks to the telescopic trailer tow mirrors, you’ll get in and out of parking spots with ease, even when trailering. They extend when you need a wider view and retract to fit into narrow spaces. There’s even an available forward and reverse spotter function and mirror-mounted camera system, which is better than having your buddy hop out, run back and forth, and try to guide you into a spot.

#5 - You’ll Enjoy Advanced Technology to Keep You Productive

When you hop in the cab of the 2025 Ram 1500, you won’t be able to ignore the screens. They’re huge. The current Uconnect 5 infotainment system is paired with an available 14.5-inch touchscreen. For reference, that’s slightly larger than some laptops. You’ll be able to freely navigate and control all of your apps and enjoy ultra-clear graphics for things like traffic reports and directions.

Moving closer to the steering wheel area, you’ll find a 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Here, you’ll enjoy important vehicle and journey stats right in your line of sight. There’s also a head-up display for putting similar info directly in front of your eyes, so you don’t even have to look down from the road. A digital rearview mirror turns your rearview mirror into a second monitor for your backup camera, assisting you when getting into parallel parking spots or reversing out of driveways.

If you plan on taking advantage of smartphone compatibility (which almost everyone does these days), you’ll love the available dual wireless charging pads. You and your co-pilot can power up your phones on the go without needing a cord. This helps keep the dash area tidy and comes in handy when you forget your charger at home.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Is Beefier and More Beautiful Than Ever

If your days demand a lot from you, then you need a pickup truck that can keep up with you. For today’s hard workers, there are tons of solid full-size pickup options on the market. Ram had some stiff competition if it was going to stand out with the 2025 Ram 1500. However, we think that the brand succeeded.

The new Hurricane engines are going to impress you and make otherwise challenging work feel pretty easy. All of the latest technology is there to assist in common daily nuisances, from hitching trailers to checking traffic reports. If you're ready to splurge, that new Tungsten trim is going to make you never want to get out of your truck again (but, sorry, you have to—life is calling you). We fully expect Ram is going to be racking up a seventh consecutive spot on Car and Driver's 10Best list this year.
